HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
2001 to 2007
Zero-In Concept and Production was founded in May 2001, as the owner's response to another event producer's scam. She didn't do it for revenge, so she says. With little money on hand, a small team started producing and organizing concerts for school events. It was a good time to believe in local musicians during these years, when originality was still accepted in the mainstream.
This team reached out to different schools for venue, and knocked on corporations' doors for sponsorships. X-deal? Sure! With monumental effort, the company successfully ran a campus tour called Campus Melee, from 2002 to 2003. It included the "Peace Tayo" concert and fashion show for peace, held at St. Scholastica's College. Parokya ni Edgar, True Faith and Moonstar 88, all relevant then, headlined the concert.
From high schools and small colleges, the team struck partnership with organizations from bigger universities and colleges to organize bigger concerts. More corporations got convinced to sponsor, though X deals were still the majority of arrangements. It's okay, it trained the team to handle logistics of stocks that could reach expiry should they remain unused. One such partnership was with UST, when they tapped Zero-In for their freshmen welcoming ceremony Thomasian Walk from 2004-2008, the "Aba, Uste Ako!" bragging concert in 2006, and the legendary Paskuhan in 2006-2008.
The team also managed to organize concerts for festivals. One notable concert happened during the 2004 Pahiyas Festival in Lucban, Quezon. Zero-In got to partner with Smart Communications to bring a handful of local bands for a night the residents and visitors of Lucban truly enjoyed.
Companies also tapped Zero-In to organize concerts for their parties, such as for the call center, E-Performaxx. Bamboo top-billed this company treat.
Through the years, Zero-In managed to put up shows for successful Filipino artists we now mostly miss, like Parokya ni Edgar, True Faith, Bamboo, Rivermaya, Moonstar 88, Nina, Nyoy Volante, Paolo Santos, MYMP, Kamikazee, Itchyworms, The Youth, Hale, Barbie Almalbis, Sandwich and 6CycleMind.
BREAKING GROUNDS
2007 to 2011
As corporations got to recognize, or probably gave in to the pestering calls of the persistent little production company, it got them contributing majorly for events. As early as 2004, Zero-In was tapped for below-the-line marketing by the antacid brand Zantac 75. So Zero-In organized a bar tour from 2004 to 2005 to promote them in 100 venues. A similar bar tour was also ran for PLDT MyDSL. PLDT myDSL again partnered with Zero-In, who brought other brands like Nivea Sun, Nescafe Ice, Enervon & pH Care, to present the Summer Gimmick 2005 in Puerto Galera.
More event activations came such as the Energizer Longest Lasting Party in 2007 (and its rehash the following year: Energizer Longest Lasting Extreme Invasion) and CDO Bibbo Hotdog school activations. The team also handled the Robinsons Malls Food Court and Coca-Cola Grand Playoffs in 2007.
2007 also saw the formation of new partnerships. It began when Zero-In was able to get sponsorship from a few Unilab brands. Zero-In then moved from seeking their sponsorship to doing their activations for BTL marketing campaigns. By 2008, Zero-In became a BTL agency for Unilab, and a breakthrough was waiting to happen.
In 2009, Zero-In executed the I-ON Office Invasion, for I-ON Energy Drink. In the same year, Zero-In organized Beached, the Summer Adventure and Party Series in Boracay, where I-ON Energy Drink was one of the major sponsors. The event was successful that it got a part 2 the following year. At that time, two other brands from Unilab: Enervon and Dolfenal, chipped in.
Zero-In successfully activated for Enervon HP's Gym Raid from 2009 to 2011. Grassroots projects for other brands of Unilab also took off with the aid of Zero-In. And so began the success of this little company in the world of below-the-line marketing.
SOLIDIFYING BTL PRESENCE
2011 to 2019
Following the success in activating brand campaigns, Zero-In expanded into more services, especially when it was given the responsibility to set-up for big sporting events starting from Bike United. It was followed by similar races like Run United and Tri United. To quicken the production of set up materials and merchandise, Zero-In took on printing as well. And because of the many brands handled, the company started warehousing, remembering the lessons learned from X deals of years past.
Zero-In became a recognized agency for executing projects from start to finish, and providing full services for events. With hard work, determination and growth mindset, the company continued to improve and break more grounds.
Allow us to boast a little bit, and mention that for five consecutive years (2013 to 2017), we were chosen by Unilab Consumer Health as the best BTL Agency.
CONTINUOUS EVOLUTION
2020 and beyond
In 2020, a pandemic forced another rapid evolution for Zero-In. COVID-19 sent shockwaves across the world, and lockdowns threatened the existence of many businesses. Not to be fazed by this black swan event, Zero-In made a rapid pivot to offer online event services.
Already experimenting with digital marketing services back in 2019 under the brand Stories We Tell - its website suddenly became an online events hub. After organizing multiple industry-sponsored webinars for health care professionals, Zero-In/Stories We Tell quickly became known in the medical community. Because of this, we were tapped to organize online conventions - a lot of them firsts for the societies - from 2020 to 2021. This includes the Philippine Medical Association (PMA), Philippine Society for Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (PSAAI), (and just search for) PSNbM, PIDSP, PSPGHAN, PCOM, PSCCI, PAPA, PSGE, PSDBP, NSSPI, and PNSP.
We also enabled many fun online activities including virtual sports events i.e. the Philippine College of Chest Physicians' COPD Olympics and the Nokia Shanghai-Bell Philippines' Sports Fest.
And as the world moves on from the pandemic, itching for physical events, Zero-In is just here, ready to resume its BTL bread and butter. In the transition are hybrid events, and in April 2022, Zero-In conducted a successful first for the 50th Anniversary Celebration of PSAAI.
Zero-in will continuously evolve. Now we can say, whether you need a virtual, physical or hybrid event, you can count on us and consider it done!
